We’re building a brand-new base of operations in Passmore, BC, for the 2025/26 season, and we’re looking for a Guest Services team member who loves creating memorable first impressions. This role is all about welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring each person feels recognized and valued from the moment they arrive. You’ll be responsible for setting up and maintaining our welcome area for morning check-in, which includes light housekeeping, accurate administrative work, and collaborating closely with the rest of the team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
This is a part-time seasonal position that will work Wednesday to Saturday, from approximately 6:30 am to 10:30 am with the possibility of extended hours on some days. This may be an ideal role for someone living in the Slocan Valley near Passmore.
Responsibility Overview:
- Enthusiastically welcome and support guests, ensuring seamless check-ins, safety orientations, and trip briefings.
- Share your love for skiing and snowboarding in the Kootenays and Valhallas, getting guests stoked for an epic day in the mountains.
- Act as a reliable link between guides, guests, suppliers, and support teams to ensure every detail is handled, including managing special requests and dietary requirements.
- Assist with special events and media visits.
- Prepare coffee and tea in the morning for guests and staff.
- Perform regular cleaning of the base of operations, guest spaces, washrooms, and staff accommodations.
- Record and manage retail sales accurately through our POS system, maintaining a well-stocked and inviting retail environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry and document management (printing and filing of electronic and paper documents).
- Support emergency response procedures as needed.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams on snow removal, utilities, and repairs.
- Manage incoming and outgoing shipments at the base of operations, and complete other errands as needed.
Skills and Competencies Required:
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, coupled with a consistently professional attitude.
- Able to multitask and handle difficult situations with a calm disposition and diplomacy.
- Proficient in troubleshooting skills and the ability to make informed decisions swiftly and effectively.
- Display conscientious work habits and excellent work ethic.
- Familiarity with ski area operations management, ski, snowboard, and backcountry travel equipment would be an asset.
- Intermediate computer skills, with demonstrated experience in retail POS or customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Extensive connection to and knowledge of the local surrounding area and backcountry network/terrain an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Licenses and Certifications:
- First Aid Training is an asset
- A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license (Class 4 an asset)
$$: The starting remuneration for this role is $28.50 per hour, plus gratuities.
